Acupuncture
Acupuncture is based on the idea that the body can heal itself, if given the proper conditions. Pain, disease, and dysfunction are seen as an imbalance in the flow of qi through the meridian system. The role of the acupuncturist is to help remove the obstacles that are standing in the way of the body's self-healing ability. An acupuncture treatment restores the harmonious flow of qi in the body through the insertion of very fine, stainless steel needles at key acupuncture points. It is one of the oldest healing modalities in the world, with a rich history of clinical success.
A typical acupuncture session with Jeanne begins with a conversation. After checking in with you about your body and your goals for the treatment, she will use the diagnostic tools of Chinese medicine (pulse, palpation of the abdomen and various acupuncture points, observation of the tongue) to develop a treatment plan. Treatment includes needling and/or massage and other manual therapy techniques. After a session, you can expect to feel a deep sense of well-being and relaxation, along with an improvement of your symptoms.
